Your trip, step by step
Planning your visit
Timing, preparation and care around your visit.
Can one session work if I visit Seoul only once or twice a year?
Yes. Even a single session can give visible results, so a visit once or twice a year is still worthwhile. To get the most from treatment, the manufacturer recommends repeating collagen-stimulating treatments such as Juvelook 1–3 months apart. Think of it like exercise: one workout stimulates the muscle, but visible growth comes from regular sessions, and collagen stimulation works the same way.
How should I plan my sessions around my trip?
Plan your sessions around how often you can come to Seoul. For Juvelook, we recommend 3 or more sessions 1–3 months apart, and international patients often space them up to 3 months apart to fit their trips. For Juvelook Volume, it is usually 3 sessions 6–12 weeks apart. See our treatment plans by trip length and how to schedule Juvelook sessions.
When should I have Juvelook before a wedding or big event?
Ideally about 1 month before, for both GLT™ Collagen Healer with Juvelook and GLT™ Collagen Volume Lifting with Juvelook Volume. Two weeks before is the latest; after Juvelook Volume, a little swelling may still remain at 2 weeks. Tell us your event date when you book, and we'll plan around it.
Can I continue the same treatment in my home country?
We can't tell you whether a treatment with the same name elsewhere will give the same result. Treatments with the same name can differ in the doctor's technique, the energy used, the amount injected, the needle size and the depth. If you want to keep your plan consistent, you can schedule your next sessions with us around your next trip to Seoul.
Do you provide skincare or supplements to take home?
If you have had a treatment or skincare with us, we may recommend clinic-exclusive skincare and supplements matched to your skin type. We don't recommend them after a 3D Skin Analysis, consultation or doctor visit alone.
Can I wear makeup or go to work after treatment?
In our clinic's experience, most patients can wear makeup right after treatment and go back to work the same day. This includes treatments with a cannula, such as under-eye Volume Lifting. We credit this to our GLT™ (Gentle Layered Treatment) technique, which spreads energy and product in thin layers across several skin depths. Skin-layer treatments, such as GLT™ Collagen Healer with Juvelook or Re2O, don't cause swelling in our clinic's experience, because the product is placed very close to the skin surface; the Hycoox injector has 9 fine needles, so you may see small red marks for 1–3 days (up to 1–7 days if you have sensitive skin). After GLT™ Collagen Volume Lifting with Juvelook Volume, swelling lasts 3–7 days on average and can last 10–14 days in some people; in our clinic's experience this is part of the normal response as your skin starts building collagen. Bruising is uncommon, and if it happens, it usually clears within about 2 weeks. Recovery can vary with the treatment and your skin, and your dermatologist will tell you if you need different aftercare. Read more about comfort and recovery.
Can I get a facial massage after treatment?
Please avoid facial massage at salons or spas for at least 2 weeks after any treatment. Pressure and friction can temporarily disrupt the skin barrier while your skin recovers. Follow any specific aftercare instructions your dermatologist gives you.
Aftercare while you're in Seoul: what should I avoid?
After Juvelook treatments, wait 1–2 weeks before drinking alcohol, doing exercise that makes you sweat, or using a sauna, jjimjilbang (Korean bathhouse) or hot bath; after GLT™ Collagen Volume Lifting, 2 weeks is better. You can wash your face and use your usual skincare from the same day, but wait at least 2 weeks before using retinol, scrubs or other exfoliating products. Use sunscreen every day, or a wide-brimmed hat, a mask or a UV umbrella if you're allergic to sunscreen. Your dermatologist will tell you if your treatment needs different aftercare.
What if I have concerns after I fly home?
The day after every treatment, our team contacts every patient to ask about any discomfort (our “Happy Call”). If anything worries you, during your stay or after you fly home, you can send a photo of your skin via WhatsApp or Instagram, and we'll explain what you're seeing. In our experience, most patients feel reassured.
Do international patients pay the same price?
Yes. International patients pay the same prices as Korean patients for all treatments, not only Juvelook. For example, see our Juvelook prices.
Can I get a tax refund on treatments?
No. The VAT refund for international patients' cosmetic treatments in Korea ended on December 31, 2025, so treatment fees are not refundable. Skincare products you buy at our clinic may qualify for a tax refund, which you can claim at the airport.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book by WhatsApp, by Instagram DM (@glassyskinclinic_global), or through our booking form. Please book at least one day ahead. When you send a request, please tell us your medical history, the medicines you take, and any side effects from past skin treatments at other clinics. This lets us plan as many of the treatments you want as possible on the day of your visit, and helps us protect your safety.
I take blood thinners. Can I still have treatment?
Please tell us about all your medicines when you book. If you take aspirin or blood thinners and plan GLT™ Collagen Volume Lifting with Juvelook Volume, contact us at least 1 month before your visit so your dermatologist can plan with you; for skin-layer GLT™ Collagen Healer with Juvelook, you don't need to stop them. Never stop a prescribed medicine without checking with the doctor who prescribed it.
Is the consultation in English?
Yes. All four of our board-certified dermatologists (Dr. Judy, Dr. Max, Dr. Sunny and Dr. Sophie) consult and treat you in English themselves. We explain your treatment plan, aftercare and session schedule in English. You can also message us in English on WhatsApp or Instagram DM before your visit.
How long does a visit take?
Most visits take about 1–3 hours. The time depends on the treatment and whether you combine more than one treatment on the same day.
The people behind your care
About Glassy
Our team, your comfort and the clinic experience.
Who performs the treatments?
All medical treatments at Glassy Skin Clinic are performed by our board-certified dermatologists: Dr. Judy Hong Jin Joo, MD, our founder and medical director, Dr. Max, Dr. Sunny and Dr. Sophie. Your dermatologist does your consultation and your medical treatment, and all four consult and treat in English themselves. Skincare and LED treatments are performed by our skin therapists.
Do you use sedation?
No, we don't use sedation. You stay awake so your dermatologist can check how you feel and adjust the treatment in real time. For comfort, we rely on our GLT™ technique and numbing cream; see comfort and pain control.
Do you use numbing cream?
Yes. We apply numbing cream before almost all treatments, for example Sofwave, brightening lasers, laser hair removal, acne-scar treatments, CureJet, Potenza and wrinkle-relaxing injections. For lifting treatments such as PTing and Linear Z, we use it if you are sensitive to pain. In our clinic's experience, PTing usually causes little discomfort even without numbing cream, especially on the body. For under-eye fine lines treated with GLT™ Collagen Healer, numbing cream is essential, and we apply it for at least 30 minutes before treatment.
Why is downtime usually short?
Downtime is usually short because of our GLT™ (Gentle Layered Treatment) technique, which spreads energy and product in thin layers across several skin depths instead of one intense pass. In our clinic's experience, most patients can wear makeup right after treatment and go back to work the same day, including after treatments with a cannula, such as under-eye Volume Lifting. In our clinic's experience, skin-layer treatments such as GLT™ Collagen Healer with Juvelook or Re2O don't cause swelling; the multi-needle injector may leave small red marks for 1–3 days (up to 1–7 days for sensitive skin). After GLT™ Collagen Volume Lifting with Juvelook Volume, swelling lasts 3–7 days on average and can last 10–14 days in some people, as part of the normal response while collagen builds. Bruising is uncommon, and if it happens, it usually clears within about 2 weeks. Recovery can vary with the treatment and your skin.
Do you check on me after treatment?
The day after every treatment, our team contacts every patient to ask about any discomfort (our “Happy Call”). If anything worries you, during your stay or after you fly home, you can send a photo of your skin via WhatsApp or Instagram, and we'll explain what you're seeing. In our experience, most patients feel reassured.
Do you sell skincare or supplements?
For patients who have had a treatment or skincare with us, we may recommend clinic-exclusive skincare and supplements matched to their skin type. We don't recommend them after a 3D Skin Analysis, consultation or doctor visit alone.
Are treatments done in private rooms?
Yes. Your treatment takes place in a private room, not a shared treatment area. This lets your dermatologist focus on you and gives you privacy throughout the treatment.
